In a thread titled “Post your Aurora Pics!”, Jag72 does just that and gets pinked for his trouble.

The only text that Jag72 posted along with the pics is as follows:

What was the violation here? My reading of this is that Jag72′s post is factual and informative. Jag72 was clearly happy with the canopy he purchased from Canomod, and was simply pointing out the obvious that anyone who looked at the many pictures on this thread would have noticed.   Yes, the new Canomod canopy is clearly more glossy than virtually all the other canopies in the other photos.  Just a few posts above Jag72′s, “ticitytoc” posts that “The align pipe is temporary.” If that had been “The highly polished align pipe is temporary.”, would that post have been pinked too?

I’ve said it over and over and I’ll keep saying it. “Advertising -IS- content!” As soon as you make the moronic decision that you must embark on a holy war armed with a tick comb trying to separate what -YOU- think is advertising from everything else, the only possible outcome is that you will make so many mistakes in the process, you will alienate your membership -and- your advertisers.

Pinking -is- public Censure. It is a virtual “Slap in the Face”.

So now, the question for the folks over at Canomod is, do you really think that allowing your advertising business partners to slap your customers in the face is part of a good business plan?
